Graeme joined the BSR Group in November 2010. He has been associated with the Betta brand for more than 35 years, and has over 46 years’ experience in the franchise and electrical appliance industries having worked in both the retail and wholesale areas. He has held numerous senior management positions within the retail and wholesale industries, including at Sharp Corporation and Southcorp Appliances. For over 11 years prior to joining BSR Group Graeme held the position of Sales Director at LG. Graeme is also a current director of the National Associated Retail Traders of Australia (NARTA).
Gavin has over 27 years’ experience in the consumer electronics and appliance industry. Starting as a retail store floor manager early in his career, Gavin became Queensland State Manager of Betta Stores Limited at the age of 25. Prior to joining the senior leadership team of BSR Group in 2011, Gavin was Merchandise Manager at the National Associated Retail Traders of Australia (NARTA) for 5 years. He manages the merchandising and retail services teams which provide direct support to the BSR Group’s network of member stores.
Stuart is a Chartered Accountant with more than 28 years’ experience within accounting and finance, the last 17 years of which have been within the retail industry. Prior to joining Betta Stores Limited as Senior Business Analyst in 2005, Stuart was CFO at mentor-uk.com Limited and Wardle Group in the UK, and Manager with KPMG for 5 years, specialising in audit and transaction services. Stuart has been involved with BSR Group since its inception and advises senior management on a wide range of business issues including strategic planning and financial management.
Adrian has over 22 years’ experience within the consumer electronics and appliance industry. Prior to joining the BSR Group in 2012, Adrian gained experience with WOW Sight & Sound initially as a retail store manager and then for 7 years as a manager in the audio/visual category. At WOW, Adrian was responsible for new store rollouts which involved procurement, in-store merchandising and the development of tactical marketing plans. In recent years, Adrian has guided the BSR Group through its digital evolution, with major updates to the group’s website, email and SMS platforms, digital marketing campaigns and the “Go Local” strategy.
David joined the BSR Group in November 2017. He has over 28 years’ senior leadership experience in retail and manufacturing. He has held senior leadership positions in electrical and import businesses, and has partnered with major retail businesses to develop their own private label brands. David has a proven track record of delivering successful projects and business improvement outcomes.

Garry is a director and Chairman of both BSR Franchising Pty Ltd and BSR Australia Ltd, having held those positions since 2008 and 2006 respectively. Garry has operated the business now called Garry Thyer’s Betta Home Living in Townsville since 1975. He has been involved with the Betta brand for 42 years and has more than 45 years’ experience in the electrical retail industry.
Dominic is a director and Deputy Chairman of both BSR Franchising Pty Ltd and BSR Australia Ltd, having held those positions since 2008 and 2007 respectively. He has more than 37 years’ experience in electrical retailing, operating the Betta Home Living store in Batemans Bay, NSW since 1989, and the Betta Home Living store in Ulladulla, NSW, from 1998 until 2015. Dominic is also a current director of Banksia Villages Ltd, a not for profit provider of residential and home based aged care.
Glenn is a director of both BSR Australia Ltd and BSR Franchising Pty Ltd having held those positions since 2007 and 2018 respectively. Glenn has been involved in the operation of Betta Home Living Lismore and Chandlers Betta Home Living Casino, NSW, since 2000. Glenn has over 35 years’ experience in the retail electrical industry, and he and his family have been involved with the Betta brand for 27 years.
Bob was appointed an independent director of BSR Australia Ltd in 2012 and BSR Franchising Pty Ltd in 2018. He founded Budget Australia (then known as Budget Rent a Car) in 1965. During his 25 years at Budget, Bob introduced franchising and expanded the company’s presence into more than 20 countries, employing more than 3,000 people with an annual turnover in excess of $400 million. He has been President of the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce, founder and inaugural President of the Australian Customer Service Association, Chairman of the Federal Government’s Trade Negotiations Advisory Group and President of the North Melbourne Football Club.. Most recently, he has been engaged in the corporate speaking circuit.
Jessica McKinnon (BA, LLB(Hons), GradDipAppCorpGov, FGIA) was admitted as a solicitor in 2001, and was appointed Company Secretary of the BSR Group in June 2019. Jessica has previously worked as an inhouse lawyer for large Australian companies including TPG Telecom Ltd and RACQ, and as Company Secretary of the ASX listed Buderim Group Limited. Jessica is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and is a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Association of Corporate Counsel Australia.
